Sizing Chart

KindWood Chews are tough, long lasting natural chews designed to flake instead of splinter.

As your dog chews, small natural wood flakes may come off. Your dog's saliva softens the wood, allowing tiny flakes to safely pass through the digestive system. If larger pieces come off, simply remove and discard them. For aggressive chewers, we recommend sizing up.

Always supervise your dog while chewing.

"My girl has a pretty sensitive stomach so I've become annoyingly picky about anything she chews lol. Bully sticks especially did NOT agree with her. I liked that this was just wood and nothing greasy or weird. We're a few weeks in and so far so good. She loves chewing it and I don't stress every time she picks it up."

"My dog is eleven now and has lost two teeth, so many of the chews he enjoyed when he was younger have simply become too hard for him. I was hesitant to try another one, but he has been able to slowly gnaw on this without struggling. Seeing him interested in chewing again has honestly made me very happy."

"My lab loves it for something hard to chew. She has Kongs and other hard chew toys, but prefers this one over anything else. We haven't even had to use the second one yet."

"My dog loves this stick! She's a Yorkie and the size is perfect for her to hold in her paws and gnaw on. Very few items keep her this entertained but this one gave me a solid 45 min of bliss as she chewed away on it and I could stare blankly at my phone without any interruption from her. Round two tomorrow! Just need to plan my 45 min. Would recommend!"

"These are great for my dogs. They do break down over time, but the fibres are soft enough for me to not be concerned about them choking. Lasts a while"

It's the number one question we get about coffee wood chews, and it's a fair one. Here's what you should know.

Regular wood can snap under pressure and produce sharp, hazardous shards. Coffee wood works differently. Its dense, tightly woven grain separates gradually as dogs chew, releasing soft fibers instead of cracking apart the way an ordinary stick does.

A KindWood chew frayed into soft fibers next to a regular stick splintered into sharp shards

Because coffee wood is a natural material, the occasional small splinter can happen. If you spot any larger pieces, simply take them away and keep supervising your dog. The loose fibers and small fragments that come off during normal chewing are fully digestible.

Two Simple Rules for Safe Chewing

Pick the right size: If the chew is too small, your dog can bite down with crushing force instead of gnawing. When you're not sure, go one size up so they can safely work the ends of the chew.

Keep sessions to about 20 minutes: This helps prevent your dog from ingesting too many fibers in one sitting and gives their jaw muscles a chance to rest.

The bottom line: pieces are supposed to come off — that's how the chew fulfills your dog's natural need to gnaw. Pick the correct size, supervise while they chew, remove any larger splinters if they show up, and your pup is all set.
Rawhide is bleach-soaked leather scrap. Bully sticks are dehydrated bull penis (yes, really). Antlers and nylon bones can be hard enough to crack teeth. Vets call it a “slab fracture,” and fixing one can cost $1,500 to $3,500.

KindWood is different. It's one simple thing: a real branch from a real coffee tree, pruned in Vietnam the same way coffee trees have been pruned for over 150 years. No bleach. No chemicals. No artificial flavoring.

And unlike hard chews that can crack or splinter, coffee wood slowly frays into soft fibers as your dog chews. Those fibers help floss and clean the teeth along the way. Long-lasting. Self-cleaning. Fully digestible.
Moderate chewers like Goldens, Labs, and Doodles usually get 3 to 6 weeks from a single stick. Power chewers like Pitties, Shepherds, and Boxers typically get 1 to 3 weeks. Soft-mouthed dogs and seniors can often make one last well beyond 6 weeks.

Coffee wood is one of the densest hardwoods in the world, making it naturally slow-wearing and long-lasting. If your dog gets through theirs faster than the ranges above, try sizing up. The bigger the stick, the longer the chew.
Tracked shipping on every order.

Every order includes full tracking, so you'll know exactly where your package is every step of the way.

Nylon bones and rawhide compared with KindWood
Antlers and bully sticks compared with KindWood

You've already been through the rotation.

Rawhide, until you looked up what bleach does to it. Bully sticks, until the smell got into the couch and the four-dollars-a-day math stopped making sense. Antlers, until your vet said slab fracture and quoted four figures.

Then the synthetic bones, sold as the safe indestructible option. Every scrape of his teeth sheds microplastic. Some of it passes. Some of it doesn't, which is why vets end up removing nylon pieces surgically.

And he's still chewing. Baseboards. Table legs. The rug you actually liked.

Chewing is a drive he was born with. What fails him is the shelf, where almost everything is either gone in a sitting or hard enough to fracture a molar.

The same KindWood chew after 1, 10 and 34 days of chewing

How a single branch outlasts every other chew.

Coffee tree wood is harder than anything in your backyard, but softer than your dog's enamel. His saliva softens the outer fibers. The wood slowly frays, millimeter by millimeter, into soft pulp that brushes plaque off his teeth.

Day 1: He sniffs, claims it, settles in for an hour.

Day 10: The ends fray. The wood is now actively cleaning his teeth.

Day 34: Most of it's gone. He's been quietly occupied for over a month.

A Vietnamese coffee farm where the wood is pruned

What Vietnamese coffee farmers have known for 150 years.

Coffee was brought to Vietnam in 1857. The trees that took root in the Central Highlands have been pruned every year since.

That pruned wood had two destinies: cooking fuel, or tossed to the farm dogs.

And those farm dogs, the ones lying in the shade between the rows, had clean teeth. Long lives. None of the dental disease that hits 80% of American dogs by age three.

Nobody patented it. Nobody marketed it. It sat in pruning piles for 150 years while American pet stores sold bleached cow hide and petroleum plastic.

We work directly with the farmers who would otherwise burn this wood. Hand-selected. Kiln-dried. Sanded smooth. Shipped to your door.

One ingredient. One tree. One thing your dog has been waiting for.

Lasts Weeks, Not Minutes

KindWood keeps even the most aggressive chewers busy for weeks, without plastic, without antlers, without a vet bill.

No Plastic. No Guilt.

Nylon bones shed microplastic every time your dog chews on them. KindWood is natural and nothing accumulates in his gut.

Safe From Start To Finish

Coffee wood frays into soft digestible fibers as they chew.

One Ingredient. Nothing Hidden.

100% reclaimed coffee wood. No chemicals, no additives, no smell. Exactly what it looks like.

Dogs don't just like it. They're obsessed with it.

Within ten minutes, he'll grab it, find his spot, and lock in. Pacing stops. Whining stops.

Then he carries it room to room like a trophy. Buries it in the cushions. Other chews get destroyed. This one gets kept.

  • Grabs his attention immediately
  • Keeps him busy for hours
  • Calms anxious or bored energy
  • Becomes his favorite possession
